Option 1
Day 0: Marrakech – Tagdilt (1660m) (330 km)
After breakfast, transfer by minibus or 4WD via the Tizi
n’Tichkapass, Ouarzazate and
Boumalne Dadès (route of 1000 Kasbahs) to Tagdilt, the starting
point of our hike where we
will meet the muleteers. Overnight stay in a local gîte.
Day 1: Tagdilt – Isk n’Iferd (2400m)
On our first hiking day we will gradually walk up from the plain
around Tagdilt to our first
bivouac in the mountains.
Option 2
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Tagdilt – Isk n’Iferd (2400m)
Early morning transfer by minibus or 4WD from Ouarzazate, via
Boumalne Dadès (route of 1000
Kasbahs) to Tagdilt, the starting point of our hike where we will
meet the muleteers. After
lunch we will gradually walk up from the plain around Tagdilt to our
first bivouac in the
mountains.
Day 2: Isk n’Iferd – Igli (1730m)
Steady climb up to cross the Jebel Kouaouch (2592m). Looking out over
the mountains, we will
see the snowy peaks of the High Atlas in the north and the beginning
of the desert in the
southeast. We’ll start descending to Igli. Overnight stay in a gîte or
tents.
Day 3: Igli - Irhazzoun (1275m)
Today we’ll walk up and down to the large rock called Bab n’Ali
(“gate of Ali”) at 1550m,
from which we have a breath-taking view of the Sahgro. We will
continue on the Tadaout
n’Tablah massif with its jagged eroded rocks, before slowly
descending to the village of
Irhazzoun. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 4: Irhazzoun – Nkob
On the final day of hiking we will gradually leave the mountains but
can still fully enjoy the
mountain views till the village of Handour (1098m). After Handour
we’ll descend
further to Nkob.
Overnight stay in a beautiful auberge.
Day 5: Nkob – Marrakech or Ouarzazate
Transfer by 4WD or minibus to Marrakech or Ouarzazate where we will
spend our last night in
a hotel or riad.
Day 6: Marrakech or Ouarzazate
Got to catch that airplane!
